Sisal is a natural fibre extracted from the Agave Sisalana, a strong, green, spiky succulent plant it grows in both sub tropical and arid regions which are unsuitable for other crops. This makes Sisal fibre production an important income contributor to poor rural populations.
Sisal is a renewable resource par excellence and can form part or the overall solution to climate change measured over it's life cycle sisal absorbs more carbon dioxide than it produces.
During its process it generates mainly organic waste and leaf residues that can be used to generate bio energy, produce animal feed, fertiliser and ecological housing materials. At the end of it's life cycle Sisal is 100% biodegradable.
Reassuringly natural and beautifully stimulating underfoot, our sisal herringbone rug comes in two fabulous shades to complement your interior.
